A Miami Jewelry store is investing in the future of students
Governor Ron DeSantis recently signed Florida's student financial literacy bill placing importance on students learning personal finance before graduation. For more than 20 years, a Miami area jewelry store has been successfully investing in the future of students.
Miami, FL - Gray and Sons Jewelers, which is a globally known company with local Miami roots is looking for its next students to mentor and train in the business world. The owners want to tell the story of their current success told by two students currently working at G&S Jewelers; Camila Pinzon, a junior at Miami beach high school and a graduate Antonella Diaz.
According to Pinzon, “This experience at Gray & Sons contributes to my life because it teaches me important life skills like communication and reasoning as well as other things that will contribute to my life in the future.”
Similarly, Diaz says, “Before working at Gray and Sons, I was lacking customer service skills, leadership skills, confidence, negotiating skills, and the list goes on.” She continues, “What many people don’t know about Gray and Sons is that every single one of our services is done in-house. We not only sell watches and jewelry, but we also buy them from the public, take them in on consignment, and take them in for repairs, cleaning, and polishing.”
Gray and Sons has a dedicated buying department, Sell Us Your Jewelry, where customers can obtain free quotes on pre-owned luxury watches including Rolex prices, sell jewelry, watches, diamonds, and even opt for ultra-favorable trade or jewelry consignment.
Students at Gray and Sons Jewelers are getting an immersion in the business world by learning how to run a business as well as showroom, website, and telephone skills. The idea of hiring high school students and training them was born over 20-years ago. Over the years, many high school students have been trained including three from Miami beach high school, who stayed with the company for over 10-years earning $100,000+ per year. Others went on to succeed in other fields. The idea is simple, to immerse young people in the business world and teach them "adult" skills. Gray and Sons is looking for students with a 3.0 GPA, with strong skills in math, and a 3.0 GPA in English. Gray and Sons also helps with college tuition, if students stay and work for at least one year as long as the subject is business-related and certain requirements are met. This is truly a unique growth opportunity for students to succeed.
